Coastal Comedy Journal

Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches on coastal comedy: the comic uses of place, weather, local character, traditions and storytelling craft. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.

What makes a good pitch

Give us a specific subject, the central question or observation, and a short account of what a reader will take away. Explain why the idea belongs in a publication about coastal comedy, and how your approach differs from a general piece about humour or seaside life. A clear, focused proposal is more useful than a broad list of possible topics.

Contributions we welcome

We consider explanatory pieces, close readings, comparisons, histories and carefully framed practical essays, provided they are evergreen and grounded in a distinct angle. We value precise examples, fair treatment of different places and traditions, and writing that does not require readers to accept unsupported claims. We do not promise publication or a particular response time.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your proposed title or subject, the focus, and a brief outline. Please send a pitch rather than an unsolicited full manuscript. Do not include private or sensitive information that is not needed to assess the idea.
